The heaven side of Recession

Does recession force you to move away from your core business idea and pick what comes your way? Is recession the culprit? Think again.

We keep telling our customers that this is the time they should be entirely focused on their core business strengths. To do really well what they do well.

Now is the time to do anything and everything that will make the core of your business less vulnerable and more powerful. Patent your secret sauce, trademark your brand and brand properties, address the gaps in your methodology, strengthen the processes and practices. This is not the time to put your feet and hands into all the baskets that promise returns. In fact, you will not get the returns and you may lose and bleed.

Simple logic – more the diversification, more the competition and hence less your focus on each of the basket. Result – focused competitors will eat the bigger pie and feed on yours too in a matter of time.

But recession is the time to take advantage of the vulnerable market conditions and defensive mindsets of other players. Now is the time to smart position your unique propositions and go to the town aggressively in terms of ideas and not budgets. Now is the time to expand your services around your core business area. Now is the time to really, really do fair bit of customer service and build loyalties without going down on your knees.

Don’t miss this corrective phase!!
